Advanced Nuclear Senior Project Manager (Remote Eligible, U.S.)

This role focuses on deployment and execution projects supporting GE Vernovas small modular reactors (SMR). The Advanced Nuclear Senior Project Manager will report to the Project Management leader and support the Project Director in planning and executing contracts for the design and construction of SMRs worldwide.

Roles and Responsibilities
  • Ensure on-time project delivery, profit & loss accountability, and customer satisfaction through management of project related activities and resources
  • Assist Project Director in organizing project cost structure in Oracle ERP
  • Participate in and support kickoff meetings with customers, internal teams, and suppliers
  • Develop and maintain a project roster, assigning and monitoring timely completion of project related training activities
  • Develop and issue the Project Management Plan and related project plans and procedures; facilitate implementation across the larger project team
  • Administer and configure project documentation to assist the Project Director
  • Support development and deployment of project infrastructure and tools
  • Ensure compliance with U.S. export control and other applicable requirements
  • Coordinate project activities; monitor and control progress on deliverables
  • Ensure project deliverables conform to contract and project requirements
  • Organize and archive project correspondence and records as per the Project Configuration Management Plan
  • Lead, draft, and issue project management meeting notes, action item lists, and progress reports
  • Travel: 10% of the time
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelors degree from an accredited university or college and 5 years experience as a project manager
  • OR high school diploma / GED with at least 10 years of experience managing projects
  • Proven professional experience in project management, engineering, or business
Eligibility Requirements
  • Preferred work location is GE Vernova Hitachi Nuclear Energy headquarters in Wilmington, NC; remote U.S. candidates will be considered (relocation assistance provided)
  • Access to U.S. export?controlled information required; offers contingent on obtaining authorization from the U.S. Government
Desired Characteristics
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification
  • Bachelors Degree in Engineering or STEM
  • Nuclear power experience in operations or engineering
  • Proficiency with project management software tools (Primavera, MS Project, etc.)
  • Fundamental-level financial or accounting knowledge
  • Experience with Boiling Water Reactor (BWR) or Sodium Fast Reactor (SFR) designs
  • Knowledge of the power industry, customer, and competitive environment
  • Financial control knowledge and understanding
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Independent initiative and strong organization skills
  • Extreme attention to detail, follow?up, and ability to balance workload under short deadlines and changing priorities in a fast?paced environment
  • Strong process orientation and problem?solving skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook, etc.)
