Seeks advice and guidance for any deviations from the norm.Read gas meters for residential, commercial, and industrial customers. Records readings for billing purposes.Identifies, addresses, and reports safety and encroachment issuesOperate service/company vehicles in accordance with company and government regulationsMaintain service/company vehicles by reviewing the maintenance record and perform pre and post trip inspections. Secure vehicles and equipment consistent with company security instructions and policyCommunicate with the supervisor of any issues that might impact safety, customer satisfaction, productivity, and other established goals and standardsMust be familiar with the contents of the Operating Manual, live by the spirit of its intent, and become involved in creating and maintaining a safe working environment. Must complete required safety trainingMust maintain position Operator Qualifications (OQ), any other required OQs, and classroom training or certificationsDuring daily interaction with customers. Communicate clearly and effectively to convey information to new and existing customersMaintain a professional image and superior customer servicePrepare, complete, process, and maintain work orders and/or all job-related documentationAbility to lift, carry, or push equipment up to 60lbsWork in all outdoor weather conditions. Ability to work around small animals, i.e. dogs, cats, other animals, etc.Requires extensive walking to read metersOperation of hand and mechanical equipmentRequires a strong sense of smellRequires visual attention to detail in reading meter numbers accurately and recording them for billing purposesEnsure that Company and Government Safety, policy and regulatory standards are met and maintainedPerform other duties as assignedBasic Qualifications (Required):Valid Driver's LicenseCommunications skills require ability communicate with internal and/or external customers in order to obtain and/or provide basic factual informationNumeric Skills - require ability to perform basic addition subtraction multiplication and divisionComputer Skills - require basic computer skills for data entry reference and/or retrieval tasksMust be able to read, write, understand and speak the English language.Ability to operate in adverse weather conditions, including off-road.Ability to abide by all DOT rules and regulations.Ability to read, analyze, and interpret documents, manuals, and reports.Complete Operator QualificationConsistently demonstrates cooperative, team-oriented behavior.Safety conscious and understand safe work practices for operating in the propane gas utility businessMaintain cleanliness and perform minor maintenance on equipment as well as ensure equipment is mechanically sound and in good working order at all times and report deficiencies to maintenance staff.EEO StatementPinnacle Propane is an equal opportunity employer.
